Love it or hate it (and based on your comments, lovers seem to have a slight edge), the new BMW CS Concept has drawn a lot of attention. So when additional photos of the big "coupe" popped up overnight, we decided to pass them along. A couple dozen more media shots show concept sketches and a few more angles of this potential new 8-Series flagship. You can read our original post here, and the gallery is accessible below. Wretched. The car fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
Hey, BMW, here's a suggestion: instead of wasting resources on newer/uglier cars, try taking existing models and getting them out to the consumer at much lower curb weights? 3600 lbs for a 335 sedan/coupe is ridiculous...it's no longer a compact sport sedan. Aim for 3k lbs, kids...then go lower. Even the e9x M3 is gonna be a piggy tank on wheels. We can only imagine how portly the pictured monstrosity will be.

I see Bangle was not content to let the 3 series coupe/6 series restore a little hope for BMW's styling. BANGLE STRIKES BACK! Maybe we'll learn he's Luke's father.

the creases have definitely been toned down a bit. the rocker overpowers the character line in the shoulder. The kick in the line on the rear door, the blunt profile of the face make it appear very muscle car-like. Doesn't present any new ideas, but a solid design nonetheless - a bit easier to love then other bmw concepts

It's a concept, so I'm not believing that everything will emerge from the factory. Some of the styling bits are striking, but that rear fender crease reminds of me of the mid-60s Plymouth Valiant my grandfather drove.
As for weight, this thing will be in the same fat club as the MB sedans, which is OK. But the 3-series has just become a bloat-mobile.

Yeah it doesn't entirely work for me...but then again it does! While the car looks way too big, almost like it's ready for takeoff in some pictures. And while the rear is good (the next 6-Series should definately adopt this rear), the front is way too aggressive to the point where it is more of an annoyance in my view. And even when the side mirrors are also ridiculously big and way too odd for my taste. And where the side profile is seductive, it's too much of a rip off of the Rapide. Nonetheless, I still could easily picture this car on Rodeo Drive and it's degree of radical design may just prove all the naysayers wrong in the end.

Love the way this car looks..Great lines and great stance...Very distintive and definitely you will not mistake it for anything else on the road but a luxury sport sedan.Build it BMW.

I, for one, hate what bangle has done to the BMW image. The new 3 series (especially the coupe) has improved their image in my opinion, but I still find every single other model to be hideous.
That said... man this thing looks cool. Anyone else see hints of the Z8 headlights? The back end is a huge improvement over the 6 series.
This car just looks like it wants to kick ass and take names.

I don't think we're looking at the same car. I think this design is stunning. It's very aggressive and despite what some are saying, it's not meant to replace the 6, it's built on the 7 series platform from what I've read. I relish the idea that this may available on the used car market along with the CLS55 and the Maserati Quattroporte in the future.

Nevermind the styling details.
This thing is long, low, and wide. It has the proportions that an automobile should have.
That alone makes it a beautiful thing.
Most cars today look like humpbacks -- too tall, too skinny, too arched. I know it's aerodynamics, but it looks like hell.
Bravo to BMW.

Low and wide ,ultra high performance 4 place luxury car.Seems like a new segment to me(Porsche Panamera's influence already?).But bring 'em on.the 4 door performance sedan category hasn't been shaken up in eons.

i don't know, i would say bangal has more victories under his belt than shitty designs.
great designs include the x5, 3 coupe, 5, z8, z4
the only bad ones were the 6, 7, x3, 1
and this one is excellent, at or better than the cls.

you can hate or love latest bmw designs but one thing is undeniable - they are brave. Much more than Audi or Mercedes design, which tend to be predictable and evolutions of previous.
That said, this design is beatiful for me. Only thing i would change, remove are those eyelids in headlights.
